Cards

Over the past couple of months crafting has had to take a backseat to life.  But, I've managed to squeeze in a card or two.....lol.  I've tried some new things, and some tried and true.
I made this card for my sister.  Of course the inside says "get whale soon"!......lol.  Thanks to my friend, TJ, I had the perfect paper.

I decided to give acetate a try after looking at a youtube video.  I love the way this one turned out. Stayz-On is my "go to" ink pad.....lol.  At first I tried embossing the acetate...that was definitely a "NO" for me.  My card melted as soon as the heat hit it.  I'll try again another day.

This birdhouse was definitely out of my comfort zone!  I am finding out the more I do, the more I can do.  It may take a couple of tries and a full trash can, but eventually I get it.....lol.

This one was easy!  Me and my Cricut get along just fine.......lol.

I finally used the flowers that I had stuck in a bag, in a drawer.  You know the ones that I wouldn't throw away because I was going to use them one day......lol.  I know that I have had these tucked away for two or three years (if not longer)!

These cuts are the Scrappy Dew Get Well Soon set.  I was so excited to put a real tissue in the box....lol.

Actually, this is an unfinished picture.  With the suggestion of my friend, Queen Pam, I put more hearts in the jar.  Still experimenting, I covered the jar with an acetate cut after decorating.  It had that "glass" look when it was all finished.  You can kind of see the shine in the picture.  I printed the letters and cut out the squares (rounded the corners) with my Cricut and then covered the letters with Stickles.  I had fun making this one.

I even had the opportunity to participate in a Tag Swap, hosted by Queen Pam over at SOC.  This was my first and I found it to be a challenge, but I enjoyed it.  For me, there is always that pressure when I am doing something for someone else.

Well, I'm off now to see what else I can come up with.  Happy scrapping/card making/crafting!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

We all have a "movie star" in our life?  Don't we??......lol.

Well, when you are making that card and/or scrapbook page the Movie Set is perfect!  You can get it at http://www.cutandcreate.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=43_81!  Set includes five files:  movie reel, movie camera, movie clap board, "oscar" award and a film strip.

Since our theme was birthdays this week, here is my card.

I used Flashing Ivory cardstock (which looks like a manilla folder).  The "Oscar" is cut out in mirror cardstock (layered and popped up), the reel is cut in textured black cardstock, and the stars are Silver Stayz-On.  The inside is the film strip, cut on textured black cardstock (which can be sized to fit photos!).  I luv this set!

Now it's your turn! Upload your Birthday card created with any SVG (or similar) file and your electronic cutter....you just might be the winner!!  Post your project on Creative Cutting Challenge http://www.creativecuttingchallenge.blogspot.com/!!
